What's a good story title?
My story is about a girl who was kidnapped when she was six and everything she writes, draws, and thinks comes true because the boundary between her mind and reality is non-existent. I want the title to make you want to read it, like the Lovely Bones, except that’s already taken and it wouldn’t fit my story anyway.

Maybe "To Kidnap Reality" or something idk maybe thats a stupid idea:P

Bought the Sopranos boxset from a normal seller in london going by the name of kissing_frogs08 & email of annanightingale@btinternet.com.

Item listed as using Royal Mail 1st Class Standard
item location listed as London, United Kingdom

The Boxset is advertised as an American version region 1 which is fine as I have multi-region player.

The ebay listing looked normal with good pictures and good description.

I have used ebay many times & I am not new or easily scammed, i was given a tracking number yesterday (which I wasn’t expecting) the itam is in Shanghai.

What should I do?
forgot to add they had good history with 100% feedback (sellers history had sold baby books old DVDs normal stuff really)
Postage was free but as it from China worried about Custom Charges & also concerned about counterfeit Boxset. (Pretty certain this is what is going to happen)

This makes the item heavily misrepresented.

wait for it to come and if its okay then do nothing – except maybe put it in their feedback. It happens all the time. They can register themselves from any address.

This has happened to me and I rang ebay to complain. I noticed others had left bad feedback for the seller also stating the same that had happened to me. Ebay will look into it for you and they gave me a free ?20 voucher as an apology which was nice. Contact ebay and they will cancel it for you and get your money back and then the seller will probably be removed as well. Good luck

Had a similar problem. Ask the seller for a refund for misrepresentation , if you get no reply, get straight onto paypal and file a grievance for misleading you.

Sounds like they may be counterfeit DVD’s then. You can either wait to see what happens – ebay will refund you if don’t receive them or if the package gets stuck in customs etc. Or if you are really not comfortable with the situation, contact ebay now and they may do something on your behalf. Probably not worth contacting the seller if the goods are in transit.

This is exactly whats happened to me, so:
Step1: Email them and ask them how long the merchandise will take to come.
Step2: If they do not reply within 48 hours I think you may have been scammed, so go onto Paypal asap. Email them* about it and they will instantly (within 48 hours) give you a full refund and deal with it.
Step3: Report this to ebay so they can make sure this does not happen again!

* The email should cleary have:
- The amount you paid
- The ebay item number
- The sellers email
- The sellers ebay user

But this could all be unnesscessary because they could still send it out and arrive at your doorstep … Like my case (:

as long as you havent been charged excessive postage which for a dvd box set ( going on 3 dvds ) would cost around ?5 to send first class. then iw ouldnt really make an issue out it, the only thing is u will have to wait longer than standard 2 day royal mail delivery times.

You are within your right to open a dispute with ebay for an item not as described, but is it really worth it ? as long as you receive your item – eventually

How can I recover faster?
I have been sick since December 31st, 2009. That makes it a full week today. My symptoms started with just some body aches, feeling hot and then feeling cold, and slight sore throat. I though it was getting better when I lost my voice on Sunday. My voice finally cam back today and I thought I was getting better, but this evening the pain in my throat came back with a vengeance and now it’s difficult to swallow. This thing may be moving into my chest as well, which is not good since I am asthmatic. Unfortunately, thanks to the way our current healthcare system works, no money and no insurance means no doctor’s visit for me. I already researched programs in my area, and I can’t afford any of them. My voice seems to be fading out again too.

I need to get better so I can get back to teaching. Anyone know any home remedies to cure or speed up the process of a really bad sore throat that has caused me to lose my voice?

Symptoms include: runny nose, loss of voice, swollen lymph nodes in my neck, very slight pus pockets in the back of my throat, and lethargy. Chills have subsided and I haven’t noticed a fever. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is some variety of bug going around that can take up to a few weeks to resolve fully in my area, and I can’t expect that mid-western America is unique in that…

Take hot baths, drink lots of fluid, chicken soup, hot tomato juice with some italian seasoning and a pinch of black pepper or horseradish (helps with stuffiness) hot lemonade with a good shake of ginger (I know, sounds awful – but its much better than it sounds and warming to the body). Be sure to rest as much as possible. A little vicks vapor rub (or essential oils like peppermint and eucaluytus if you have them) help to make breathing easier…And steer clear of anything with caffiene as much as possible, because it interupts sleep if you have it later in the day…if you can sleep with your head elevated by some pillows it can help with nasal drainage – but I can’t sleep like that either…

No one has invented a cure for the cold yet – but there are things to help provide comfort.
and it sounds like you have a double whammy going on….take extra care to be good to yourself.

If you are getting a secondary infection in your chest, then you are going to need antibiotics. My asthmatic brother died from pneumonia because he did not go to a doctor for an infection brought on from a cold/flu.

Meanwhile keep your fluids up and get plenty of rest. Perhaps see if your pharmacist can offer anything for the symptoms.

Vitamic C – wont work.
Echinacea – won’t work.
Zinc – wont work.
Colloidal silver – won’t work (and dangerous)
Lemon and honey – won’t work
Garlic – won’t work.
Ginger – won’t work.

The US health system sucks, doesn’t it? It wouldn’t cost you anything in my country.

What can you tell me about possessed rings?
Ok, so i know many people do not believe in the whole witchcraft stuff (i dont believe in it much) but this is kinda creepy. On Sunday, I went over to my friend’s house and she asked me if I was hungry. I said yes and so i made pizza. I usually wear six rings and i know exactly which ones they are and which fingers i put them on. Before i started cooking, i took ALL of my rings of and set them on the TV stand. After dinner, i forgot them at her house and i didnt pick them up until wednesday night. On tuesday night, i was looking for something in my drawers and there was just one of the rings i had worn on sunday. im POSITIVE that i left that ring at my friends house. how did it get into my drawer? it gets worse. on wednesday i went to pick the rest of my rings up. When i went to school, i told my friends what had happened. My friend Katherine said that she wanted to wear it for the day. I agreed. After an hour of having it, she came running up to me, screaming, that my ring that fit her perfectly had turned her whole finger purple. She shoved it in my hands with pure terror spread across her face. later that wednesday night, when i went to bed, i took off the ‘possessed’ ring and left it on my bedside table. This morning when I woke up, my dad asked me where i had left my ring and i said that it was on my bedside table. he said that that was weird because he had found my ring outside, in front of the car. I wore the ring again today. a few hours ago the finger where my ring was started to hurt and then extended to my whole arm. Then i started to get nauseated and i got a really bad headache. When i took the ring off, i started to feel better. If i put it back on, the pain came back. Oh and i forgot to mention : on tuesday night i was working on a lab report for science class and i was wearing that ring. I only wrote two paragraphs. on wednesday, i opened the document during school, and a whole paragraph had been added on. and the results were correct. i had planned on adding that part at lunch time before science…o_0
my ring doesnt seem to be that old.it is a 925 silver ring. HELP! it’s making me loose my memory too!

Plot: Two people Matt and Kate wake up in a closed down prison. They have no idea how they got there, or why they are there. In the prison they encounter several terrors as they look for an exit. These terrors include a wolf beast that terrorizes Kate, a hideous monster that hunts them both, a “zombie” surgeon who operates on people whilst you’re still alive, the executioner who gives Kate a ride in his electric chair and finally executes her with the guillotine. But Kate just wakes up again in the prison and the nightmare continues. Also in the prison Matt and Kate encounter a strange number that pops up a regular basis, first the number is being printed over and over again on a printer gone crazy, next the number appears painted on a wall in blood. Kate finds a room containing a vacuum tube machine for sending messages between rooms, when she pushes the operation button it comes alive and a cylinder appears. Inside the cylinder are the pictures of five people, Kate has no idea who these five people are. Later in the movie Matt and Kate explore the basement in the search for an exit and discover five pairs of shoes all neatly arranged on a shelf. As Matt and Kate endure these horrors, the beautiful fashion model Raquel Lake is being interrogated by the police about a series of homicides. Raquel is arrogant and diabolical, she also has a very high IQ and proves more than a match for the professional police interrogator. Strangely many of the subjects in the police interview correlate with the events transpiring in the prison. For instance, Raquel is shown a series of pictures of five dead people, and when Raquel is informed by the detective that they are “looking for a cold blooded predator.” Raquel’s response is….”like the wolf?” What is the connection between the two people trapped in the prison and the interrogation of Raquel Lake?

Lost To The Sea
born to the Island, a woman of past
sat spinning on her wheel
spinning the fleece of her sheep to last
while her man stood on the keel.
she cast her weary eye to sea
thro` the mist to sight his ship
will he e`re come home to me
for the sea was rough this trip.
there`s many a man has drowned
many a widow to grieve
as she spun her yarn and frowned
please God to beg reprieve.
the thick night mist turned colder
a tear ran down her cheek
her shawl wrapped round her shoulder,
it was cold.dark. and bleak.
she sadly walked towards the shore

I love this poem…(normally I see people put their poems here and there not good) but your poem is visual and metaphoric…very good job in conveying emtion and tying them to the physical elements involved.
I think you have a bright future (if you’re not already published) you should write a book of poetry and direct market in on a publish by demand website like Lulu.com

Hmm. You’ve done a pretty good job of rhyming – the poem actually makes sense and is decent as far as plot goes, although there are a couple of loose ends you might want to tie up (Why is she spinning wool? What "Island" are you talking about? Did the man die or not?) and a bit of confusion for me as well (I thought the man was dead – did a double-take then realized my mistake.).

However, there are a few instances where you’ve sacrificed flow/word choice for rhyme. I now quote:

"sat spinning on her wheel/spinning the fleece of her sheep to last"

That’s kinda awkward ("to last" makes it sound you’re using "last" in the sense of "preserve" rather than the "the end"), though I can still see what you mean, i.e. she’s spinning the last of her sheep wool.

Then there are the parts where you suddenly switch the point of view.

"as she spun her yarn and frowned/please God to beg reprieve"

Not only that, but "frowned" doesn’t seem to be the best word for her facial expression at present (usually, people frown when they’re angry/annoyed).

And what really stood out for me was the last few stanzas.Too many "for’s" disrupt the fluid movement of the poem. Be careful of being too repetitive.

The potential is there; you’ve just got to polish the poem up a bit. Keep working at it!

You’ve wrongfully adopted an ancient voice. The story is loosely told and the ballad form does not quite fit the woman’s story…perhaps the man who was lost…but not the grieving widow.

I sense you’ve sacrificed a lot of meaning for rhyme…what does "a woman of past" mean? Why is her shoulder "cold, dark, and bleak"? E’re is not a word. You probably mean "e’er"?

Think harder. Write the poem that is underneath all this posturing. You don’t have to sound like Wordsworth to write poetry. Wordsworth is the only one who should sound like Wordsworth.

Plot: When Waring Hudsucker, head of hugely successful Hudsucker Industries, commits suicide, his board of directors, led by Sidney Mussberger, comes up with a brilliant plan to make a lot of money: appoint a moron to run the company. When the stock falls low enough, Sidney and friends can buy it up for pennies on the dollar, take over the company, and restore its fortunes. They choose idealistic Norville Barnes, who just started in the mail room. Not only is this my favorite all-time movie thanks to fine work by Tim Robbins and the Coen Bros…Paul Newman plays a hilarious devilish villan that you love to hate! It’s all LOL!…God rest your soul, and thanks for the memories, Mr. Newman….’sure!sure!’….
